CARBON MAT/ VEIL
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Carbon fiber surface mat, often referred to as a carbon fiber veil, is a lightweight, non-woven fabric made from fine carbon fibers. These fibers are randomly oriented and bonded together to form a thin, uniform mat. It is typically used as a surface layer in composite materials to enhance the surface finish, improve aesthetic quality, and provide additional benefits such as protection from corrosion and environmental degradation.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. Lightweight: Surface mats are typically thin and lightweight, adding minimal weight to the overall composite structure;
2. Surface Finishing: It improves the surface quality of composite products by providing a smooth, uniform finish, which is particularly useful for aesthetic applications;
3. Corrosion Resistance: The fine carbon fibers in the mat offer additional resistance to corrosion and chemical degradation, enhancing the durability of composite products;
4. Enhanced Laminate Properties: The mat is often used as the outermost layer of a laminate, increasing the durability and wear resistance of the composite material;
5. Thermal Protection: The carbon fiber veil can offer improved heat resistance, especially in high-temperature environments.
